Natural Anti-Aging Supplements.

One of the number one questions I get from my clients is: “do natural anti-aging supplements really work?” There’s no wonder why that’s such a popular questions — it’s an unpleasant fact of life that we all age. As we age, we want to continue to try to stay looking and feeling young

Natural anti-aging supplements are a big business, WorldHealth.net reports that the sale of these supplements is expected to top $291 billion by 2015. But how many of those supplements actually work? More importantly, how do they work? What’s the science behind them, and how do they affect our bodies?

Natural anti-aging supplements aren’t so much backed up by science as they are backed up by what we believe to be common sense. Just like any other vitamin or mineral sold in supplements stores. Look at coenzyme Q10 for example (better known as CoQ10), which tops the list of one of the most popular natural anti-aging supplements. Our bodies need CoQ10 to run efficiently, but as we get older the amount our bodies produce decreases, so supplementing with CoQ10 is a way to maintain good health as you get older.

In this post I’m going to present a list of natural anti-aging supplements and explain what they do, but please keep in mind that the effects of these have not been fully studied, so proceed with that in mind. This list is not a recommendation, it’s meant to help you make an educated decision on whether or not to take any of these supplements.

Top 3 Natural Anti-Aging Supplements

Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10)

I already touched on this one briefly, but now I’ll explain in more detail. CoQ10 is necessary for cells to function, so our bodies produce it naturally. It’s also necessary for for the production of a molecule known as adenosine triphosphate, or ATP.

As we get older, our bodies produce less CoQ10. Researchers believe that taking CoQ10 can help prevent heart disease. There are are few side effects, an upset stomach is likely the worst you’ll encounter.

Carnitine

This is naturally produced in the liver and kidneys, and helps the body turn fat into energy. Studies suggest that its benefits as one of the popular natural anti-aging supplements include the ability to help reduce symptoms of angina.

Acetyl-L-Carnitine is a type of carnitine that has been used as a treatment for Alzheimer’s disease and is among the top anti-aging supplements because it is reported to improve memory function. Carnitine is also used to help relieve depression related to senility and dementia.

Fish Oils

Omega-3 is the key component of fish oil supplements, which is a fatty acid. Doctors recommend Omega-3 as a way to keep your heart healthy. As studies also show fish oil is beneficial in lowering high triglyceride levels, which are fats related to cholesterol.

Fish oils are among the top natural anti-aging supplements. Some take it to stem the effects of glaucoma and macular degeneration. The body does not produce its own omega-3 fatty acids. Therefore, supplementing with fish oils is one of the best ways to get it.

Conclusion
