- Q: Insurance - Does the doctor accept insurance?
A: The doctor does not participate in any insurance plan and has opted out of Medicare. You will be provided with a billing statement that you can submit to your insurance company. Some of the tests and services may be considered preventive, unnecessary or experimental and may not be covered by insurance. Another alternative is to use tax-deductible vehicles such as Flexible Spending Accounts, Medical Spending Accounts, Healthcare Spending Accounts, Health Reimbursement Arrangements and Health Savings Accounts.

A: Dr. Maita focuses on Preventive Aging and treats the underlying cause of disease through lifestyle, nutrition, supplements, hormones and physical and mental exercises as well as other therapeutic medical interventions. A: The quickest, most efficient and in-depth approach to optimize your health would be to complete an all-day Comprehensive VIP Evaluation covering all of the aspects of your health to determine what is aging you or contributing to your risk of developing disease or contributing to any current diseases. Through assessments of your physical and mental performance, your nutrition, lifestyle, preventive health plan, stress management, hormones, supplements and nutrition, Dr. Maita will determine the most impactful interventions to reverse or prevent the chronic degenerative diseases of aging. All aspects work synergistically to impact your health. Follow up would be based on time and the amount of attention you need to be successful in optimizing your health as well as how frequently you may need monitoring and laboratory analysis.
- Q: Focused Consultations - Do I have to sign up for the full program?
A: No. You may choose to start in any area- Nutrition and Supplements, Physical Performance, Neurocognitive or Bio-identical Hormone Replacement or have a consultation regarding specific conditions such as controlling High Blood Pressure, Diabetes, Weight Loss, Cholesterol, or other conditions. Dr. Maita offers specialized tests such as Advanced Cardiac Profiles, Functional Nutritional Analysis, Genetic SNP’s (single nucleotide polymorphisms) and others based on your individual needs. Follow up would be based on time and the amount of attention you need to be successful in optimizing your health as well as how frequently you may need monitoring and laboratory analysis.
- Q: Hormones - Does the doctor specialize in bio-identical hormones?
A: Yes the doctor specializes in bio-identical hormone replacement therapy and has completed a 2-year fellowship of additional and ongoing training through several organizations. She is a Diplomate of the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine and a member of the Age Management Medical Group and has extensive training and resources to assure you are getting the most up to date treatment available. She can monitor your hormones through blood or saliva based on your individual needs.
- Q: Hormones - Does the doctor prescribe Growth Hormone?
A: There are many ways to boost growth hormone and in most cases it is not necessary to prescribe growth hormone. There are strict guidelines for prescribing growth hormone and the doctor abides by those guidelines and prescribes only when medically indicated if all else has failed.
- Q: Hormones - Do I have to take hormones?
A: Taking hormones is an individual choice. The doctor will evaluate your symptoms and laboratory tests and make recommendations as well as discuss the risks and benefits. Abstracts of scientific articles are posted on the web and patients will be given materials so that they may make an informed choice. The doctor will work with you to improve your health with or without hormones.
- Q: Nutrition - How does your nutritional analysis differ from going to a nutritionist?
A: The anti-aging approach to nutrition is somewhat different. Your dietary intake is analyzed to optimize your hormonal responses such as insulin and cortisol surges and gene expression that can contribute to many diseases. Dr. Maita will also customize a supplement program and food recommendations to minimize inflammation, oxidation and glycation, which ages you more quickly. Computerized and laboratory analysis of your nutritional status is also available if you want or need it. Preventive or Anti-Aging medicine promotes innovative science and research to find evidenced based approaches to prevent or reverse chronic, degenerative diseases of aging and nutrition is a key component of optimizing your health.
- Q: Fitness - How does your fitness evaluation differ from others?
A: Dr. Maita brings her medical expertise, and knowledge of Anti-Aging and Regenerative medicine to conduct an evaluation of the biomarkers of aging and risk factors for developing chronic disease. The focus is a diagnosis of how well you are functioning. Through assessment of your strength in all major muscle groups, cardiovascular and pulmonary function, reaction time, static balance, body composition, flexibility and risk factors, she will prescribe specific exercises and medical interventions to enhance your function in all areas, reduce your risk factors, modulate hormones, manage disease, increase energy, strength, cognition, balance and other factors that age you or contribute to chronic disease.

A: Evaluations and follow-ups are based on time and some consultations require preparation and analysis before your visit. Call the office for more information.
- Q: Are laboratory tests extra?
A: Laboratory tests are not included in the price and will be billed directly to the patient. In some instances, the laboratory will bill your insurance directly and in other cases, you may submit your bill to your insurance company for reimbursement. There is no guarantee that your insurance company will reimburse for the tests.
- Q: Will the doctor take the place of my primary care physician or specialist?
A: No, Dr. Maita will work with you and your physician on a preventive health and preventive aging. She does not perform clinical services that are not part of you preventive aging program such as acute, urgent or emergent medical care or primary care.

A: Hours are by appointment only and vary. You can call and leave a message on off hours and someone will get back to you. After hour and off day appointments can be arranged on a case by case basis.
